It was a great honour this week to speak at Aeronautica Militare‘s conference at the Palazzo dell’Aeronautica in Rome this week to mark the 100 year anniversary of the first ever transpolar flight, which was flown by Umberto Nobile and Roald Amundsen in the airship N1 Norge. Yes, an airship!
Thanks to my fellow international panelist Steinar Aas and chair Major Michele Palumbo for making it such a fascinating session. Thanks to speakers like Gianluca Casagrande, Massimiliano “Max” Pinucci, Vittorio Emanuele Parsi and pietro batacchi moderators like Flavia Giacobbe, the inspirational opening –and closing – address by General Urbano Floreani, and many more more, for making it such an interesting conference.
